The wait is over. After being re-approved by Apple, OR Magazine’s Spring 2012 issue is now available for free download at the iTunes App Store.

In addition to 10 interactive story spreads, the Spring 2012 issue features a video cover of mixed martial arts fighter Nathan Wallner boxing with the screen, making it appear as though he is fighting the reader. The issue also includes a masthead incorporating animated GIFs of the magazine’s staff.

Check out this behind-the-scenes video to see how we did it.

Thank you so much to everyone who helped us create this magazine. This includes our wonderful guest speakers, Ed Madison, Deborah Cooke, Chris Scotti, Clare Hancock, Shan Anderson, Deb and Dan Morrison, the School of Journalism and Communication, our freelance staff and our friends at Adobe. Your advice, talent, and assistance was invaluable. We can’t thank you enough!

Many of those who previewed OR Magazine’s Spring 2012 issue at our launch party have been asking when it will be published to the iTunes app store. Unfortunately, our app has to be re-approved by Apple before they publish it to iTunes. We hope that the issue will be ready to download by the end of this week, but all we can really do at this point is cross our fingers and wait to be re-approved.

When OR Magazine has been successfully re-approved and published to iTunes we will announce the news here on this blog. In the meantime we will continue post status updates as we receive them.

Thank you for your patience.

On Saturday June 3, OR Senior Multimedia Editor Collin Golden traveled to an abandoned alley in Eugene, Oregon for a video shoot with MMA fighter Nathan Wallner.
